Replay controls and shortcuts

Step, play and jump through the tape, and the keyboard shortcuts that do it faster.

The playback bar

  • Step back (◀): moves back one step. Going back restarts the account from that bar, so your trades are cleared; if you have any, you're asked first. In a prop challenge or a battle you can't go back at all.
  • Play: runs the tape at the chosen speed. Press it again to pause.
  • Step: moves forward one step.
  • Step interval: 1m, 2m, 3m, 5m, 15m, 30m or 1H, and 1s to 30s in a seconds session. The default is 1m. It's separate from your chart timeframe: on a 15m chart with a 1m step, each candle builds over 15 steps.
  • Speed: how fast Play moves, from 0.5× (0.7 s per step) through 1× (0.35 s, the default) and 2× to 5× (0.06 s per step).

Go to

Go to jumps forward to the next Next Day Open, Next Session (whichever of Asian, London or New York comes first), Asian, London or New York open. Your trades and account carry through, and closed-market times are skipped. Session times… lets you edit the windows, in New York time. A jump lands on each window's start.

Asian19:00 to 00:00
London03:00 to 06:00
New York09:30 to 16:00

Select bar, ETH and RTH, full screen

  • Select bar: click it, then click any candle to move the replay there. Esc cancels. Forward keeps your trades; backward restarts the account, same as stepping back. Right-clicking the chart and choosing Replay to does the same.
  • ETH / RTH: RTH shows only your New York window on the chart. It's display only: replay, orders and indicators keep using the full electronic session, and switching doesn't touch your trades.
  • Full screen: hides the side panels so the chart gets the room.

Seconds data

Where second-by-second data is available for your session, the session runs on it: the step menu adds 1s to 30s, the chart gets seconds timeframes, and the create form tells you which markets it covers. Markets it doesn't cover show as “seconds unavailable” in that session's market list. Everywhere else, the replay runs on 1-minute bars.
