Connecting Rithmic

Link a Rithmic account and sync its completed trades into the Journal.

Rithmic sync imports completed trades from a Rithmic login. It is read-only: it lists accounts and reads fills. It cannot place, change or cancel an order.

Connect and sync

Open Accounts and choose the Rithmic system, your username and your password.
Link each account to a journal account, the same way as other broker accounts. Pick a start date when the account had no open position: trades are paired from that day's opening fills.
Press Sync. Each position, from flat back to flat, becomes one journal trade: split fills, adds and partial exits are one trade at your average entry and exit. A position still open comes in once it's flat.

Rithmic's fills give the gross P&L. With a Commission set on the journal account (per contract, round turn), each new trade records commission × contracts as its fees and comes in at gross minus those fees; without one, it comes in at the gross with no fees. A trade already synced is never changed by a later sync. For trades synced before you set a commission, Edit account offers Apply to N synced trades with no fees.

After that, linked accounts sync on their own while futures markets are closed: weekdays between 5 and 6 pm Eastern, and at the weekend. A sync signs in to Rithmic with your login, and Rithmic can end another session on the same login, so it never runs on its own while you might be trading. Sync brings your latest trades in straight away at any time.

Each sync also checks the accounts on your Rithmic login: a new one brings back the linking panel, and one your firm removed reads no longer on this login, with its trades kept. A blown account still syncs from the Blown list, importing trades closed on or before the day you marked it.

The password is stored encrypted, used only to read trades, and deleted when you unlink the last account on that login. Rithmic Test is available first. Live and prop-firm systems wait on Rithmic's conformance.
