The Backtest journal
Where your Backtester trades land, kept apart from your live numbers.
The Backtest journal holds replay trades only, and they never touch your live stats. Your Overview, calendar, accounts and digest never see them. Odds can run on them if you pick the Backtest journal ledger. It is laid out like Trades, and Open Backtester at the top takes you back to the replay.
How trades get here
In the Backtester, answer Journal my trades the first time you close a trade, or turn on Auto-journal closed trades. From then on every trade you close lands here with a snapshot of the chart. Trades closed before you turned it on aren't added. They arrive under the Discord account you sign in with, so use the same one in both places. More in the Backtester's journal page.
Switching sessions
Under the title, the session switcher starts on All sessions, then lists your sessions newest first. Step through them with the arrows on either side, or with the [ and ] keys when you aren't typing. Click the session's name to pick one from the list, or type in Find a session. Each one shows whether it was a prop or cash run, its markets, its dates, its trades and its net. With a session picked, Continue in Replay reopens it in the Backtester. The page's address keeps the session, so Back and Forward and shared links land on the same one.
Reading it
The figures (Net, Win rate, Profit factor and Avg trade) and every count follow the session you picked. Filter to winners or losers, by side, symbol, setup or Market session, or search. The market session comes from the New York time the trade was opened: Asia from 6:00 PM, London from 2:00 AM, New York AM from 8:30 AM and New York PM from 12:00 PM. Trades are grouped by day. Under All sessions each row starts with its session's name.
One trade
Click a row to review it beside the list, with the same keys as Trades. It shows the Backtester's capture of the chart at exit (Open full size opens it in a new tab), your confluences and mistakes, Market session, That session (where the trade fell in its session, and the session's net), This setup and your notes, which save as you type. The replay's numbers can't be edited. The ⋯ menu has Open in Backtester at this trade when the trade has what the chart needs, and Delete, which removes it from this journal only.
No stop, no R
A replay without a stop has no R. Its review shows a Risk line: “No stop in the replay. Add what you risked to give it an R.” Press Add and type the dollars you risked. A trade that had its own stop in the replay keeps that R.
Session analytics
Session analytics, at the foot of the session list, opens the picked session's analytics, or with All sessions, the list of them all. It shows your Replay sessions, marked Prop firm or Cash replay: “Your acknowledged history remains here after Replay checkpoints expire. Journal sharing is separate.” A session shows entries taken, completed trades, win rate and trading P&L, a row per account and attempt, and for prop sessions the monthly payouts, expenses and net. Journal details and trading calendar opens its trades, calendar and equity chart, with a CSV Export.
